Integrated Big-6 Practices with Donna Read (ZOOM)
This June, Donna invites you to join her for three evenings of intense practice. The “Big-6” refers to six yoga postures considered to be foundational for a balanced yoga practice.
- Headstand (Salamba Sirsasana)
- Shoulder stand (Salamba Sarvangasana)
- Plough Pose (Halasana)
- Supported Bridge Pose (Setu Bandha Sarvangasana)
- Calm Lake Posture (Viparita Karani)
- Corpse Pose (Savasana)
Each week, Donna will teach a specific practice using these postures for different therapeutic effect.
Week 1: Integrating strong, balanced variations of the Big-6 with long-hold standing poses for all around stability.
Week 2: Integrating backbends and twists within the Big-6 to stimulate the nervous system and bring energy.
Week 3: Integrating restorative, supported variations of the Big-6 and deep, forward bends to calm our mind and quiet the nervous system.
DATES: Monday evenings: June 6, June 13 + June 20, 2022
TIME: 6 – 8 PM (EDT)
PRICE: $75 + tax
This course will take place live on ZOOM and will include feedback where necessary. A link to the recorded class will be available for 7 days.
A note about props:
These practices require props. 1-2 belts, 2 blocks, 3 blankets, a bolster and a chair will be used during these practices. We can work with what you have available in your home, but contact Donna at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions. Ideally you will have a wall (or locked door) available and your mat set up before we begin.
