Yoga for Cranky Feet

Leonardo da Vinci stated, “the human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art.” Yet each day we take this masterpiece and stuff it into a shoe and forget about them until there is a problem. Feet get tight, toes start to gravitate into claws and then we wonder why our hips are tight. Releasing the feet can make your legs and hips more fluid and learning to stand on your feet more efficiently helps to support the pelvic floor and spine.

Leslie invites you to discover ways to strengthen and release the feet and have a new appreciation for these two masterpieces.

This workshop qualifies for Yoga Alliance CEUs.

 

Yoga for the Glutes

Do you over grip your glutes in yoga poses, or is there a “lazy bum” you may not be aware of? Each gluteal group consists of 3 muscles: Gluteus Maximus, Gluteus Medius and Gluteus Minimus. How the rump works in yoga poses can affect change in the hip socket, where the sacrum sits, how the legs work and how you experience the pose. This workshop will give you a deeper understanding of the anatomy used in standing poses and hip opening poses. As a result you will experience familiar poses in an unfamiliar way.

This workshop qualifies for Yoga Alliance CEUs.

Yoga for Cranky Feet

Recommended Props: 2 blocks, a strap, a chair, yoga wedge or small paperback book or extra yoga mat to use as wedge, a tennis ball, resistance band if possible but not required.

Bio:
Leslie Howard is an Oakland, California-based yoga teacher, specializing in all things pelvic. She leads workshops and trainings nationally and has written a book about caring for the female pelvis, Pelvic Liberation.
