How to Create and Maintain Dynamic Balance
A weekend of yoga asana with Chuck Miller

Chuck Miller, one of our favourite sources of yoga wisdom and good humour, will return to Montreal November 18-19, 2023. This time, Chuck will look at forward flexion and the second part of the Primary Series.

“Something I like to do is to look at the shape we put our spine into in different asana. Neutral spine, flexion, extension, rotations, rounded spine, some in flexion, some in extension.

We can name the different spine positions to create shorthand and understand better how to accommodate the challenges they impose as we transition from one to another.

Using Samasthiti actions to balance the forces, we meet the challenges with the opposite forces to create and maintain Dynamic Balance. Patanjali mentions it: meeting the imbalance with an opposition. That is bandha which then creates elongation. That is the magic.”

This will be an incredible weekend, and a chance to study with one of the master students of ashtanga yoga. We hope you’ll join us.
